Ghaziabad: A police inspector in Ghaziabad commissionerate has submitted a complaint, accusing her estranged husband and his cousin of installing cameras in her bathroom and bedroom and filming her. The two men and their third accomplice, who helped bug the house, were booked. The cop also claimed the accused stole Rs 1 lakh from her almirah. The complainant, a native of Meerut, said in her complaint that on October 13, she had taken two-day leave to visit her parents in Dehradun. On October 16, she returned to her home in Raj Nagar Extension. At 6.30pm, when she was resting, she saw a bulb holder emitting a red light. When she checked, she found a camera hidden inside. She then called a constable to check the entire house, and found other cameras hidden in the bathroom and bedroom. I also found a Wi-Fi router in the bathroom in which a SIM card was inserted along with a memory card. When I checked it, I found some objectionable videos of mine. In one video, I found my husband, his cousin, and another unknown person installing the cameras. I then checked my almirah and found Rs 1 lakh cash and a gold chain missing. We are going through marital discord, so I called up my husbands cousin to ask about the cameras. But he threatened to leak these videos on social media. He also asked me to transfer Rs 1 lakh more into his bank account, the complaint further read. Based on the complaint, all three accused have been booked under IPC sections 354 (molestation), 380 (theft), 384 (extortion), 321 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation). Action will be taken once the investigation is complete, said Abhishek Srivastava, the ACP of Kavi Nagar police station.
