Ghaziabad: Two people were arrested for allegedly murdering a 35-year-old woman in Loni on Thursday. Police investigation revealed that the accused were unhappy after the woman objected to them standing outside her house and drinking alcohol.According to the police, the accused — Pankaj Kumar and Ankit Kasana, both residents of Loni — allegedly killed Girija, a native of Murena, Madhya Pradesh out of revenge as they felt ashamed after Girija insulted them publicly.Girija, a divorcee was living with her brother Vinod Sharma and niece Aditya. They were away at the time of the incident.The accused entered Girijas house on Wednesday around 2pm and stabbed her neck with a knife from behind. They pushed her towards a wall, which led to severe head injuries. She died due to excess bleeding, said police. The accused stole jewellery and valuables worth Rs 1 lakh along with the victims mobile and fled from the spot.On Wednesday evening, the police recovered Girijas body from her Loni house, after being informed by a neighbour. A neighbour went to the deceaseds houseand found the door open. She entered the house and discovered the body. Immediately, she raised an alarm and cops were called, said Vivek Yadav, DCP (Rural).During interrogation, the accused told cops that they were standing near the deceaseds house and talking, when the she came out and started misbehaving with them. The accused alleged that she abused them, and this was not the first time. In the past too they had heated arguments," Yadav added. The accused were booked under relevant sections 302 (punishment for murder), 392 (robbery) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
