Three on bike chase trader on another, shoot him dead

GHAZIABAD: A 42-year-old man was shot dead by three men on a bike in Loni on Thursday, police said. A case was registered and several people have been detained for questioning, cops added.According to the police, the deceased is identified as Jeetendra Kumar, a resident of Agrola village in Loni. He used to run a grocery shop near his house.The deceaseds cousin Mukul told police in his complaint that Kumar was on his way to Ghaziabad on his bike at the time of the incident. According to the complainant, eyewitnesses reported that Kumar was on the Delhi-Saharanpur road near Ashok Vihar colony when the three accused approached him on another bike and opened fire. Kumar attempted to escape and, after a 50 metre chase, the accused allegedly surrounded Kumar and shot him several times.The accused reportedly had their faces covered with clothes and helmets, he added.According to Mukul, Kumar was a witness in the murder case of his cousin Deepak, who was killed in September, 2021. Deepak was murdered by some people of the village. Jeetendra was the witness in the case. Police registered a case against Madan and some others. Police had arrested him and he came out on bail a few days ago, he said.DCP Vivek Yadav said that an FIR has been registered against unknown persons under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC. It is a case of rivalry and we have identified some of the accused in the case. Police are also checking the CCTV footage from the nearby area and four police teams have been formed to nab the accused, he said. We have detained some people in the case and we are questioning them. The court stated that the use of force and the victims injuries clearly established the accuseds intention and knowledge of the crime. Naik has been given four weeks to surrender, during which his lawyer plans to challenge the judgment before the apex court.
