Beaten by teacher, Class 10 boy suffers a fracture in forearm

GHAZIABAD: A 15-year-old Class 10 student of Kisan National Inter College in Muradnagar was left with a fracture in his forearm and bloodied fingers on Friday after a teacher allegedly thrashed him with a stick.The school later formed a three-member committee to investigate the case. After his family lodged a complaint, police filed an FIR against the teacher.Md Salman, the boys uncle, said, His class teacher asked him to summon a Class 8 student.When he sought permission to enter that class, teacher Amit Kumar chased him out and beat him with a stick.The student went to the principal, who sent him to a hospital for first aid. We got a call from the school. When we reached MMG hospital, his X-ray reports showed a fracture in his arm, said Salman. Sarika Channa, the school principal, said, After sending the boy to the hospital, I summoned the teacher, but he did not answer properly. So, a panel will probe the case. We are under pressure to take back the complaint but want the teacher punished. The teacher, Tripta Tyagi, was accused of encouraging students to slap their eight-year-old Muslim classmate. The police have now added IPC section 295-A, which deals with deliberate acts intended to outrage religious feelings. The case was initially registered under IPC sections 504 and 323, but the addition of section 295-A could result in a prison term of up to three years.
