Ghaziabad: A doctor allegedly beaten up by security personnel of Kumar Vishwas said the poet and former AAP leader visited his Pratap Vihar house on Diwali evening and apologised for the attack on him. Kumar Vishwas, Dr Pallav Bajpai said, also gave him an idol of Lord Ram.The doctor told TOI the poet arrived at his house around 8.15pm after he had finished his Lakshmi puja.Around half an hour earlier, I got a call from Kumar Vishwass personal assistant, who informed me that he would come home to meet me. We spoke for around 30 minutes. He apologised to me for the attack, saying he was deeply hurt by the incident. We discussed our families and other topics as well, Dr Bajpai said.On November 8, the doctor alleged he was roughed up by the poets security men when he was headed for a function in Aligarh. In his complaint, Dr Bajpai said he gave way to a police car after it blew the horn a few times. But occupants in another vehicle just behind it stopped and allegedly abused him over his driving skills. The security personnel also roughed up the doctor and snatched his smartwatch as an argument broke out.An FIR was registered against five security personnel under IPC sections 392 (robbery), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation). There has been no arrest so far.The doctor, however, wont withdraw his complaint, he said. I am waiting for police to complete the investigation. I have asked them repeatedly to arrest the culprits. They beat me up so badly, he told TOI.Repeated calls and messages to Kumar Viswas did not elicit any response.After the alleged attack, the former AAP leader had posted on X that the driver of a car had tried to hit the vehicle in which his security personnel were travelling.
