3 suicides: Constable, banker found hanging; 20-year-old jumps to death

GHAZIABAD: Three separate incidents of suicide were reported in different areas of the city on Sunday, police said.In the first incident, a regional manager of a bank was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his home in Indirapuram. Cops identified the deceased as Yogesh Chaurasiya, a resident of Amrapali Royal Society located in Vaibhav Khand.Yogendra Singh, SHO of Indirapuram, said police received information about the incident at 10am on Sunday.The deceaseds family took him to Fortis Hospital in Noida for treatment, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.Initial investigation revealed that on Saturday night, they all returned from a function from Meerut and after that, they went to sleep. On Sunday morning, when he did not come out from his room, the family checked the room and found him hanging from the ceiling fan, the SHO said.We didnt receive any complaint from the family. A police team was also sent to check his room but we didnt find any suicide note or anything, he added.In the second incident, a 32-year-old woman constable was found similarly hanging from a ceiling fan on Sunday evening at her house in Urban Home society in Aditya world city.Polcie identified the deceased as Sheetal, a resident of Bijnor. She joined the police force in 2016. Her husband Devdutt lives in Chennai where he is working with a private company.We recovered the body and sent it for a postmortem. Reports are awaited, said Saloni Aggarwal, ACP of Wave City.The deceaseds husband called her several times, but when she didnt respond, Devdutt contacted the security manager of the society. The security team went to her apartment and called the police when, despite multiple knocks, she did not open the gate. Police reached and forcefully opened the gate and found her body hanging from the ceiling fan, she said.A police source said Sheetal had been in a fight with her husband before she took her life. While police are investigating the case, no complaint has been received from the deceaseds parents yet.In the third incident, a 20-year-old man reportedly jumped from the 11th floor of a tower in Dev Heights society near NH-9 in the Masuri area on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place at noon on Sunday. Initial probe revealed that he was suffering from depression and had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi, ACP Aggarwal said.
