Medical student jumps 23 floors to death from terrace

Ghaziabad: A 23-year-old medical student, who was allegedly battling depression, ended her life by jumping off the terrace of a 23-floor tower of a high-rise in Indirapuram on Friday evening. Her body was spotted by a neighbour at a fountain near the residential tower on Saturday morning. The body was sent for an autopsy. Initially, it was difficult to identify the body, but later residents identified her as a resident of Delhi who studied at a private college in Ghaziabad, said ACP Swatantra Singh.The societys guard told police that she used to often visit the society to meet a man who had been living there for almost a year.We contacted the man and came to know that the two were earlier in a relationship, but it did not work out, and they broke up 2-3 months ago. However, they were in touch. On Friday too, she visited him but left around 3pm. Footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the society shows that the woman re-entered the society around 6pm and went to some other towers terrace, from where she jumped off, added Singh.
