Earphones on, 2 crossing tracks run over by train

Ghaziabad: Two persons died, and one was injured as they were crushed by a train while crossing the tracks in the Indragiri area of Masuri. The incident happened at 4.30pm on Monday. According to police, the three men were taken to a nearby hospital—two of them were declared dead on arrival while the third mans condition is critical in the ICU. Vivek Yadav, DCP (Rural Zone) said, As per local eyewitnesses, the victims had not noticed the train approaching them as they had earphonesplugged in.We have informed their family members.The deceased have been identified as Ram Bhole (26), a resident of Sitapur and Ashish Kumar (30), a resident of Lakhimpur. The person injured, identified as Chote Lal (28), is also from Lakhimpur. The three worked at a farmhouse in Masuri and were living in Ghaziabad for more than three years.Such train-crossing mishaps are not uncommon. Earlier this year on February 9, a 21-year-old man, Rajat Sharma, died after a train ran over him in Modinagar while he was trying to save a woman, who was crossing the tracks to reach her house. In another similar incident from last year on December 14, a young couple and their friend were allegedly making videos on the tracks when they were hit by a train in Masuri.
