Wellwishers bid final adieu to Angle

Margao: The mortal remains of Bhiku Pai Angle, the noted theatre personality, educationist and writer, were consigned to flames at the Margao crematorium on Wednesday. He was 93.The funeral pyre was lit by his son Hemant.People from all walks of life attended the funeral. Angle passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday. In 1973, he was awarded the ‘Ideal teacher award’ by the Maharashtra government. TCP minister Vijai Sardesai, MP Narendra Sawaikar, former Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik, former MLA Damodar Naik, were among those who attended the last rites.Born in November 12, 1924 in Goa, Angle began his career in education in 1946 in Maharashtra.
