MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council (MMC) has finally been successful to troubleshoot and fix the problem of the overflowing nullah near the municipality. Once that was removed, free flow was restored in the nullah,” Arsekar said. “A lot of silt and plastic was accumulated in the drain. After several visits to the site by officials of the MMC, PWD and Sewerage Development Corporation, apart from local MLA Digambar Kamat, the MMC engaged its own workers to clear the drain of all the silt and other material that was choking it.Municipal engineer Manoj Arsekar informed TOI that the municipal workers opened all the slabs covering the nullah until the block was detected.
