The trend of maximum temperature around 35.0 degrees Celsius is likely to continue with rain unlikely, expect due to localized phenomenon of heating. But during the last few days it has been hovering around – and even crossed - 35.0 degrees Celsius twice. IMD, Panaji, has not issued any weather warnings for both districts during next five days and the weather is likely to be dry. “The higher temperatures (above 35 degrees Celsius) are two degrees above normal, but the discomfort is due to high humidity,” M L Sahu , director, India meteorological department ( IMD ), Panaji , said. The night temperatures have also been higher than normal. “Due to cloudy conditions at night, the heat gets trapped in the lower atmosphere and hence minimum temperature does not come down,” Sahu said.Weather is most likely to be dry over north Goa and south Goa districts during the next five days.
