Rly police trace lsquokidnappedrsquo Vasco minor girl at Dharwad

Vasco: Dharwad railway police in Karnataka on Monday traced the 15-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped at Sada, Vasco , on Sunday evening.The girl was found in a train proceeding towards Vailankanni, Tamil Nadu. He told the younger girl to tell her family that her elder sister had been kidnapped,” the police source added. Dharwad railway police traced them in the train and took both into custody.DySP, Mormugao, Sunita Sawant said “Our team has gone to get the girl and the 19-year-old boy who is with her at the Dharwad railway police station. The boy then took the girl and dropped her sister near their residence. Till we speak to the girl, we are not arriving at any conclusion.”

On Sunday evening, the girl’s 8-year-old sister told her parents and police that they were walking near the Sada sub-jail when the men abducted her sister in a red colour car.Sources said a ‘nakabandi’ was put up everywhere including at Cortalim junction. But after questioning the younger sibling once again, she told police that it was her elder sister’s birthday and she had met the boy on the road and spent a long time speaking to him.“By the time she realised that it was too late, she feared the reaction of her father who had earlier warned her against meeting the boy. She was scared as her father had warned of killing her on a previous occasion,” said a police source.“The girl refused to go home fearing her father's reaction. The boy then took the girl and dropped her sister near their residence. He told the younger girl to tell her family that her elder sister had been kidnapped,” the police source added. Dharwad railway police traced them in the train and took both into custody.DySP, Mormugao, Sunita Sawant said “Our team has gone to get the girl and the 19-year-old boy who is with her at the Dharwad railway police station. Till we speak to the girl, we are not arriving at any conclusion.”
