Panaji: The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa ( TTAG ), on Friday said the demise of Mapusa legislator Francis D’Souza was a great loss to the tourism industry. It showed his commitment to tourism industry,” the statement added.TTAG members consist of hoteliers, travel agents, tour operators and allied bodies. It further stated that the late MLA was most suited to be Goa’s tourism minister.President of the tourism trade body, Savio Messias, in a statement said that although D’Souza never held the tourism portfolio, he always supported the association in times of need.“He was very hospitable and a thorough gentlemen who was most suited to be tourism minister. But political compulsions prevented him from holding the portfolio,” the statement read.The last TTAG event D’Souza attended was its installation ceremony, during which he administered the oath of office to its executive members. “He attended the function despite being unwell.
