PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod Sawant retained all the portfolios held by his predecessor Manohar Parrikar , including home, personnel, finance, vigilance and general administration.The state government on Friday allocated portfolios to the newly-sworn in ministers, with all of them retaining their earlier departments.As reported by TOI a day earlier, no alterations were made in the portfolios that were allocated to the eleven ministers under the earlier BJP-led coalition government.Deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai will continue to head the town and country planning, agriculture, archives and archeology, and factories and boilers departments. Deputy chief minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar has also retained his coveted PWD, transport and river navigation departments.The state government issued a notification which said that the portfolios not mentioned in the notification would continue to be held by Sawant, in line with the practice followed by Parrikar.Even at the height of his illness, Parrikar held over 20 portfolios. Sources suggest that the additional departments currently held by Sawant may be distributed among alliance partners at a later stage.
