KTC to roll out Mobor-airport bus service

PANAJI: The state-run Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) is soon going to start a bus service between Mobor and the airport. KTC officials said that the service is being launched owing to repeated requests from such tourists to extend the airport shuttle service to South Goa as well.“Passengers have written us e-mails requesting for this service. The service will come as a welcome relief for the tourists,” the KTC official said.This service, which entails ferrying passengers to the Goa airport for the minimal rate of Rs 100-150, has generated positive response from users, urging the KTC to increase its number of trips in North Goa. There is a lot of demand for the service in Cavelossim. In Mobor, the bus may go up to the Leela Goa beach resort,” he said.The picturesque territory of Mobor attracts plenty of tourists, who find the quaint and idyllic village of South Goa to be the perfect family holiday destination.

The corporation already runs this service from Calangute and Panaji in North Goa at Rs 100-150 per trip.“After the Lok Sabha elections, we will start operating trips from South Goa, with a bus shuttling from Mobor to the airport and vice-versa,” a KTC official told TOI.Since there are many hotels in this coastal region, the bus will commute via Cavelossim and Varca.“The route has wide roads, which are good for operating KTC’s Volvo buses. There is a lot of demand for the service in Cavelossim. In Mobor, the bus may go up to the Leela Goa beach resort,” he said.The picturesque territory of Mobor attracts plenty of tourists, who find the quaint and idyllic village of South Goa to be the perfect family holiday destination. These are KTC’s long buses with a seating capacity of 40-45. “If there is more demand, we can further enhance the services by adding more buses. But it will happen only after the elections,” the official said.
