3-day Hindustani music festival

Panaji: A three-day Hindustani music festival featuring some of country's noted vocalists and instrumentalists is set to entertain aficionados of classical music in the state. The first day's session will conclude with a violin rendition N Rajam, supported by Nandini Shankar. Titled Sangeetotsav and dedicated to the memory of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, Late Dhondutai Kulkarni, the festival will be held from July 21 to 23 at Kala Academy, Panaji.On July 21, the festival will open with a sarod performance by Joydeep Ghosh, followed by a vocal performance by Aditya Mohan Khandwe. Minister for art and culture Govind Gaude, will inaugurate the festival at 5.30pm.Day two will begin at 5.30pm with a session by flautist Srinibas Satapathy, followed by a vocal performance by Pt Mani Prasad, supported by Ramesh Jhule and Rahul Babbar. The session will be concluded with a sitar recital by Pt Budhaditya Mukherjee.On the concluding day, the morning session will begin at 10.30am with a performance by vocalist Brajeswar Mukherjee, followed by a violin recital by Anupriya Deotale.

This will be followed by a vocal presentation by Alka Deo Marulkar with the support by her daughter and disciple Shivani Dasakkar.The evening session will begin at 5.30pm with a vocal performance by Sandipan Samajpati, followed by a sitar recital by Amitava Chatterjee.The session and the festival will conclude with a vocal recital by Prabha Atre with the support of her disciple Chetna Banawat.The event is being hosted by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi in association with Kala Academy, Panaji.
