Arts festival to be spread over 11 venues

Panaji: Spread across 11 locations in Panaji, ranging from historic Portuguese buildings to structures of modern marvel, the second edition of the Serendipity Arts festival (SAF) is scheduled to be held from December 15 to 22.Programmes will be dispersed across venues that will be walking distance from each other. Goa, with its diverse culture and international audience, is the perfect destination for such a large display of the arts," festival director, Smriti Rajgarhia said.The highlight of the festival will be the work of Joseph Wirsching, who was associated with Bombay Talkies. "The festival's venues are seamlessly connected for surface transportation for all guests, and we want to ensure that all our venues are accessible and reachable to everyone. Unlike last year, the upcoming edition of the festival, which is being held in collaboration with Smart City Panaji, will also provide transit options to attendees. The awards focus on the essence of arts education, interdisciplinary awareness and progress.

His work will be presented by his grandson, George Wirsching, artist and custodian of the Wirsching Archive of Hindi Cinema History.This year, the festival will also host the Art Spectrum Awards South Asia (Asasa) 2017, to recognise artists who have emerged from South Asia's unique diversity. The awards focus on the essence of arts education, interdisciplinary awareness and progress.
