The Indore truck operator and transport association is in a mood for agitation over 4-point demands. The association announced to go on strike for three days. Seeking relief in problems related to business, the association decided that the movement of commercial vehicles in the state will be stopped from August 10 to 12. They have demanded the government to close the border check post, reduce VAT on diesel, exempt road tax / good tax, and include truck drivers in Kovid insurance. In the event of non-acceptance of demands, All India Motor Transport will talk to the Congress and launch an indefinite nationwide agitation.

Indore truck operator and Transport Association president CL Mukati said that we had met the Transport Minister with his four point demand, but his attitude was not positive. For this reason, we have decided to completely lockdown the transport system in Madhya Pradesh from August 10 to 12. Our demand is that the Coronakal transport and the Good Tax be waived. The VAT increase and other taxes that have been increased in the last one year should be withdrawn. The insurance facility should be provided to the drivers considering them as Corona warriors. Illegal collection should be stopped at MP check post. If the government does not listen to us, then we will stop the transport system across the country indefinitely.

He said that right now the business is running 25 to 30 percent. 75 percent of the business is closed. Every trader is trading at a 75 per cent loss. The government will incur a revenue loss of 400 million rupees per day. In such a situation, there will be a loss of revenue of about 1200 crores in three days. The bandh has been supported by the drivers, transporters, diesel-petrol tankers, bus and taxi associations as well as the Ahilya Chamber of Commerce.
