The malfunction in the Jalud pumping station to transport Narmada water to Indore has not been completely rectified till now. On Monday also 9 water tanks of the city remained empty. Due to this, on Monday after Sunday, people living in many colonies of the city did not have taps and had to worry about water.

Significantly, there was a malfunction in the pumps of the pumping station located at Jalud on Saturday. Due to the fault, the pumps were shut down due to which the supply of water to Indore was stopped. The team was called from Gujarat to repair the pumps. Superintendent of Indore Municipal Corporation`s Narmada Project engineer Sanjeev Srivastava had claimed that the malfunction would be rectified by Sunday night and water supply to Indore would become normal from Monday. But the failure of the pumps has not yet been completely corrected.
Due to this, on Monday, 9 water tanks of Indore Gandhi Hall, Agarbatti Complex, Subhash Chowk, Malhar Ashram, Sadar Bazar, Narwal remained empty. At the same time, very little water could reach the water tanks located at Chhatribagh, Rajmohalla and Maharana Pratap. Due to this, the houses of people living in many colonies attached to these tanks did not have taps on Monday morning.
It will take a week, the officials associated with the Narmada Drinking Water Scheme say that most of the pumps located at Jalud are expected to be operational on Monday but it may take a week to fully normalize the situation. Even before the pumps have malfunctioned, but no such situation has been created as this time.
