Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): As the ancestral houses of actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor in Pakistan have been declared heritage buildings there is demand to convert the dilapidated house of silver screen all-rounder and legendary playback singer late Kishore Kumar into a museum or temple. On Friday Khandwa SDM Mamta Khede reached Kumars residential building and examined it. She will prepare a report and submit it to senior officers. The local civic body had planned to dismantle the building but had to stall it following protests. His ancestral house is in dilapidated condition and may collapse in rain. Kishore Kumar was very fond of Khandwa and his house here. This house was inherited by Kumar who later gave it to Arjun son of Anoop Kumar. Now Anoop Kumar owns this house. Ranveer Chawla Sunil Jain Narayan Baheti Ashish Chatkele Anil Baheti of Prerna Manch also met the SDM and said that if the government buys this house from Arjun then it should be preserved. Most fans of Kishore Da consider him as their god and his house as a temple. Therefore they have demanded that his ancestral house be converted into a temple dedicated to the singer or be developed as a museum that will house his belongings.
