CBSE asks schools to complete internal assessment by June end

Indore: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday asked schools affiliated to it to complete their internal assessment and practicals by the end of June in case they were unable to do so because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Following that the board was asked to develop a “well-defined” and “time-bound” criteria for an assessment plan. The criteria would include calculating results based on internal assessment among others. Sources however said schools had approached the board expressing difficulty in being able to calculate marks based on internal assessment as conducting practicals was a problem with many of them because of the pandemic. “Schools with pending internal assessment and practicals should complete them through online mode and submit to the board by 28 June” the circular released by the board Monday read.

The Class 12 exams for this year were cancelled on 1 June after a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following that the board was asked to develop a “well-defined” and “time-bound” criteria for an assessment plan. The criteria would include calculating results based on internal assessment among others. Sources however said schools had approached the board expressing difficulty in being able to calculate marks based on internal assessment as conducting practicals was a problem with many of them because of the pandemic. “Schools with pending internal assessment and practicals should complete them through online mode and submit to the board by 28 June” the circular released by the board Monday read. The previous deadline for uploading the marks was 11 June.
