Guna District administration issues identity cards to transgender people

Guna (Madhya Pradesh): Identity cards were issued to 9 transgender bisexual people by district collector Frank Noble A on Monday. Identity cards were given to them in collectorate premises by deputy director social justice department Sonam Jain. Under the Protection of Bisexual Persons Rights Act 2019 there is provision for education social security and health related measures for transgender people by the government. Schemes designed for them include educational social security health schemes welfare measures vocational training self-employment schemes. The Act provides for launching awareness campaigns by government to educate and train transgender people about their rights.

Under the Protection of Bisexual Persons Rights Act 2019 there is provision for education social security and health related measures for transgender people by the government. Schemes designed for them include educational social security health schemes welfare measures vocational training self-employment schemes. The Act provides for prohibition of discrimination in government or private organisations or educational institutions and ensures equal access to social and public places including cremation grounds or graveyards. The Act provides for launching awareness campaigns by government to educate and train transgender people about their rights. Transgendered people Banno Nayak Jyoti Bhargav Shivani Kirar Sia Kinnar and others were present on the occasion.
