Petrol and Deisel Price hike, Transport operators at Risk

  • | Monday | 14th June, 2021

Amid the Economic issues in Covid, the Petrol, Diesel price hike has put the transport workers at risk.

Bus and transport traders have become helpless due to the continuous increase in the price of diesel. The situation is that now only 20 percent of buses and 40 percent of trucks are plying from Indore. Where bus operators are demanding exemption in tax and increase in fares. At the same time, truck operators are demanding relief by bringing diesel under the ambit of GST.

Prices on it are increasing continuously. When the price of diesel was Rs 67, we were demanding a hike of Rs 1.5 per kilometer at that time. Now the rent has increased, so the price has become Rs 96.

The biggest problem is of peers who are contracting with big companies. Now they can`t even break it in half a year. If the contract is terminated midway, then the fine has to be paid, the trucks which are running belong to these people.
