Ujjain: Owners would not be able to launch construction work on their plots in Parsvnath City on Dewas Road. Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) commissioner Kshitij Singhal on Wednesday ordered for a ban on issuance of building permission in Parsvnath City in view of the lack of facilities like electricity connection. About 15 years ago Delhi-based firm Parsvnath Developers launched the residential township on the land of defunct IISCO Pipe Factory. While selling 1078 plots in four sectors the developers had shown lofty dreams to the customers. The claims made by the include: a secure campus surrounded by boundary wall round the clock water electricity facility gleaming roads lush green gardens town hall shopping complex and school were planned. The builders only developed roads and gardens in the colony and shunned the rest of their promises. A sub-station was to be built at a cost of Rs 18 crore to provide uninterrupted power supply to the residences in the colony. The builders sold the plots by showing their dreams but betrayed the plot owners by failing to provide them facilities said a plot owner. Over 250 families aspiring to own a house fell for the words of the builder and their stooges however now they all feel cheated said a plot owner. Power supply in the colony is erratic and water supply too suffers due to the same. The residents are a hassled lot and they continue to register their protest. Two days back also they had demonstrated in front of the Kothi Palace. The colony suffered a power cut late on Tuesday and it was restored only early on Wednesday. The residents reached the Collectors bungalow to share their plight. They however could not meet collector but UMCs deputy-commissioner Kalyani Pandey listened to their plight. After this episode their meeting with the municipal commissioner was fixed. Officials of the UMC the West Zone Distribution Company and the PHED held two rounds of meetings with the residents. In view of the electricity woes of the resident the municipal commissioner stopped the grant of new building permission for the time being. He said that the existing power infra of the colony is getting affected due to the construction of new houses. Manish Sharma president of Parsvnath Colony Residents Association said that along with cancellation of building permission the work of construction of sub-station should be expedited. Resident Hemant Kakani said that the biggest need of the colony is the electricity sub-station and it should be commissioned soon. THE MESS! The UMC authorities issued the completion certificate even before the colony was fully developed. By law this certificate should have been issued after the power sub-station was built. To hide its mistake the UMC mortgaged plots of the colonys shopping complex town hall and school land. When applications were called for construction on these plots no one came forward. Later it was found that the value of the mortgaged plot was quite less. Even after selling these plots the sub-station cannot be built.
