Demand to make Bagli a district gains momentum

Indore: The clamour to make Bagli a district has gained momentum ahead of assembly polls with many voters in several pockets of the constituency threatening to boycott polls. This decades old demand has found a mention in canvassing of both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress candidates. Congress candidate Gopal Bhosale during campaigning in the constituency said, BJP ruled this constituency for several years but still there is no development.People are migrating in search of livelihood and better facilities. Congress will make Bagli a separate district and fulfil the demand of the people. BJP candidate Murli Bhawara said, Demand for a separate district is a logical demand and this will further boost development and create job opportunities locally. My first priority will be to make Bagli a district and this will be my first task after forming government.Bagli constituency in Dewas district has highest number of 11,472 first time voters in the age group of 18-19 years, which includes 6378 males and 5094 females. An agitation committee has also been formed to push for a separate civic body, and they have warned that they will launch further protests if the government does not address the demand. The committee argues that Dharwad is growing rapidly and needs its own civic body for proper development.Coimbatore district has 30.49 lakh votersCoimbatore district in India has a total of 30,49,004 voters, with 14,96,770 male voters, 15,51,665 female voters, and 569 other voters. The district is divided into ten assembly constituencies, with Mettupalayam having the highest number of male and female voters, and Valparai being a reserved constituency with a smaller number of voters. The draft electoral roll has been released, and people can make changes to the list until December 9 through a website or mobile application. This tradition has been ongoing for 30 years and is seen as crucial for securing votes. Sanyam Lodha, a Congress candidate, has already visited non-resident voters in Mumbai, Pune, and Gujarat. The candidates have meetings with voters scheduled almost every day in November. Staying connected with the roots and having an attachment to the homeland is important for these voters.
