Manasa candidate injured in accident

Indore: A 47-year-old independent candidate from Manasa assembly constituency, who is also Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) vice president, was seriously injured after he was hit by a speeding heavy vehicle while on his way from Neemuch to Manasa on his bike on Thursday. Neemuch SP Amit Tolani said that the incident took place between Girdoda and Revli Devli village when candidate Ramesh Gurjar was hit by a four wheeler coming from the opposite direction.Gurjar had gone to Neemuch to attend a meeting organized at the collectorate and was returning when theaccident took place. After being hit by the vehicle, Gurjar and his bike were stuck under it and he was dragged for over 100 meters before coming to a halt. Some eyewitnesses identified the candidate and called the AAP leaders. Soon after receiving information, AAP leaders including president Ashok Sagar, senior leader Naveen Agarwal and others reached the spot. He was rushed to the district hospital where he was admitted in the trauma center for further treatment. Doctors said that Gurjar received injuries on his torso, head, face and legs and has multiple fractures. He had submitted his nominations as an independent and from AAP but his AAP nomination was rejected due to various reasons.
