Well-educated candidates in tribal districts with low literacy rate

Indore: Out of the candidates in fray in Jhabua and Alirajpur districts, most of the major party contenders are either graduates or have some specializations.In these two tribal dominated districts of the state where literacy percentage is very low, focus of the candidates campaigning for the elections is on education and the educational qualifications of the candidates contesting comes as a boon to the voters. According to the affidavits submitted by the candidates of Congress and BJP and some other independents, almost all apart from Val Singh Meda of Congress from Petlawad assembly constituency, have education above class 12, are graduates or have specializations in various fields. Val Singh is the only candidate who has studied till Class 8. Whereas BJPs Bhanu Bhuria and Congress candidate Dr Vikrant Bhuria contesting from Jhabua assembly constituency have the highest education. While Bhanu is a law graduate, Vikrant is a surgeon. Unemployment, electricity and water woes, lack of good educational institutions are some of the major issues of the area on which both the parties are focusing.This election is majorly focused on education and generation of employment for the locals such that they dont migrate to Gujarat in search of work. We have already announced that we will be opening a law college soon. We are also working on opening a medical college. There is already an engineering college in Jhabua, said BJP candidate from Jhabua Bhanu Bhuria. Similarly, Vikrant Bhuria said, The tribals are not given the due respect in the state and we are fighting against their exploitation. Unemployment in the region is the major cause of migration for which we will work. BJP Kal Singh Bhabhar, two times MLA, and state Janjati Morcha president said, All the voters have been benefited by the numerous schemes linked to education and scholarship launched by the government. There are still issues related to unemployment but we are focusing on providing skill based training to the youths such that they dont migrate to other districts, said Kal Singh Bhabhar, BJP candidate from Thandla.Incumbent MLA Veer Singh Bhuria of Congress said, Major issues in the constituency are unemployment. The initiative aims to educate students about the importance of voting and instill democratic values from a young age. The content will be incorporated into textbooks and co-curricular activities, and universities will also offer programs to develop critical thinking and leadership skills. The goal is to tackle voter apathy and encourage students to register as voters when they turn 18.Rajasthan Assembly elections: BJP releases 4th list of candidatesThe Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its fourth list of candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly polls. The list includes Ram Niwas Meena and Swaroop Singh Khara as candidates for different constituencies. The party had previously released its third list, which included former MLA Ajit Singh Mehta. The BJP is aiming to secure victory in the assembly elections against the Congress, which won 99 seats in the 2018 elections. The polls in Rajasthan are scheduled for November 25.
