Indore: AICC general secretary and Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday led a roadshow to garner public support for partys candidate from Indore-I constituency Sanjay Shukla.Gandhi, who was accompanied by Shukla, his wife Anjali and former higher education minister Jitu Patwari, led a 1.5 km-long roadshow and received floral welcome from stages erected along the route.The rally saw hundreds of women and men walking ahead of Gandhis vehicle and raising slogans for her along with Shukla while some of them were also dancing to drum beats of around a dozen drummers accompanying them.On the way, a stage broke down due to overload. As Gandhis vehicle was passing by, she halted for a few minutes and inquired about the well-being of the people, who were standing on and next to the stage. No one reported injuries as it was a minor incident, Shukla told mediapersons.On the roadshow route, a big stage was erected by BJP workers for a public address of MP and Bollywood actor/singer Manoj Tiwari to seek support for party candidate Kailash Vijayvargiya. As Gandhis vehicle passed through the stretch, a few BJP workers started shouting Modi-Modi while Congress activists raised slogans for AICC general secretary and Shukla. During this, Gandhi smiled and greeted BJP workers standing on the stage by waving at them.The roadshow started around 5.25 pm and took about 50 minutes to reach Banganga Kund, where Gandhi greeted people for upcoming Diwali festivities.My best wishes for Diwali, Gandhi said.
