Complaint against Vijayvargiya: Indore court asks for police report

Indore: A special MP/MLA court in Indore has sought a status report from police following a complaint against BJP candidate from Indore-1, Kailash Vijayvargiya, for not disclosing all his pending cases in his election affidavit.The complaintwas filed by Congress leader Sanjay Shukla — Vijayargiyas electoral rival — after which special judge Suresh Yadav asked Raoji Bazar police to submit the report by November 20.Voting in MP is on November 17.The private complaint was moved in court against police inaction on a complaint to register a case against Vijayvargiya for hiding criminal-case details in his election affidavits, Shuklas counsel Sourabh Mishra said.Shukla told the court that a gang-rape case is pending against Vijayvargiya before a court in West Bengal and theres a criminal defamation case in a court in Durg, Chhattisgarh, but Vijayvargiya did not mention either in his election affidavit. Vijayvargiya also hid information about his wife being the director of Association for Self Help Actions, added the Congress leader.Shukla had filed a complaint with Raoji Bazar police against violation of the norms by Vijayvargiya. The police, however, neither investigated the complaint, nor registered a case or provided details of the action taken against Vijayvargiya, Shukla says in his court application. Moitra is currently involved in a "cash-for-query" controversy, with the BJP leader accusing her of accepting bribes.SC stays proceedings in criminal defamation complaint against Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi YadavThe Supreme Court has put a stay on the proceedings in a criminal defamation complaint filed in Gujarat against Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the RJD party and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. Yadav had allegedly made a remark stating that "only Gujaratis can be thugs". He has approached the apex court seeking the transfer of the case to a place outside of Gujarat. The court has issued a notice and the matter will be heard in January.
