Indore-V polling booths to have 2 ballot machines

Indore: Indore-V assembly seat, which is the states biggest constituency in terms of electoral population, also has highest 16 candidates in the fray in 66 seats of Indore-Ujjain division for the election office to use two balloting units for voting while minimum three candidates are contesting in Sendhwa constituency of Barwani district.Indore, which has maximum nine constituencies and highest 27.55 lakh voters in a district of Madhya Pradesh, is witnessing as many as 92 candidates in the fray.Of these nine seats, there are seven candidates contesting from Sanwer, eight candidates each from Indore-II, Indore-III and Indore-IV, 10 candidates from Indore-I, 11 candidates each from Rau and Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), 13 candidates from Depalpur and maximum 16 candidates are contesting from Indore-V assembly seat that has around 4.12 lakh voters registered at total 364 polling booths.According to Indore deputy district election officer Rajendra Raghuvanshi, an EVMs balloting unit can handle a maximum 15 candidates along with the option of NOTA and therefore, the election office has to install two balloting units at all polling booths of Indore-V constituency as there are a total 16 candidates in the fray. The election office has made available a total 3,505 ballot units, 3,068 control units and 3,325 VVPAT including that in reserve to hold voting at a total 2,561 polling booths, he said.On the other hand, Sendhwa assembly seat of Indore divisions Barwani district has minimum three candidates including that from BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party.As per the records, there are four candidates contesting each from Gandhwani, Kasrawad, Pansemal and Sardarpur seat while five candidates each are contesting from Dharampuri, Harsud, Pandhana, Ratlam rural and Tarana seats. Similarly, six candidates are in the fray each from Alirajpur, Badnagar, Badnawar, Barwani, Bagli, Bhagwanpura, Bhikangaon, Dewas, Khandwa, Kukshi, Malhargarh, Manasa, Nepanagar and Ujjain North seat.The assembly seats that have seven candidates each including Garoth, Ghatiya, Jobat, Kalapipal, Maheshwar and Manawar while as many as eight candidates are contesting each from Badwah, Hatpipliya, Jaora, Jawad, Jhabua, Petlawad and Ratlam City. Agar, Alot, Khategaon, Mandsaur, Nagda-Khachrod, Neemuch, Rajpur, Shajapur, Sonkatch, Suwasra, Thandla, Ujjain South and Shujalpur seat have nine candidates contesting the assembly polls.There are two seats that have as many as 10 candidates each in the fray - Mahidpur and Sailana while Khargone seat has a total 11 competing each-other. Dhar and Mandhata seat have 12 candidates each while there are a total 13 candidates contesting from Burhanpur seat. Susner assembly seat has the second highest candidates in Indore-Ujjain division as a total 15 candidates are in fray there.
