Indore: Polling stations across the city were abuzz right from the morning as first-time voters made long beelines to exercise their franchise on Friday.A first-time voter, Chita Munjal (20), who was early waiting in the queue at a model booth in Old Palasia, expressing her excitement said "This is a pivotal moment for me as a first-time voter. Were determined to shape the direction of our city and area and make our voices heard to bring some positive change for the state. Another first-time voter, Zoya Khan, a medical student, who cast her ballot at the Urdu School booth in Khajrana told TOI, Arrangements made for the voters were very good.The process was also smooth, and it did not take much time.Theme- based polling booths became a centre of attraction for the first-time voters, sparking a trend of clicking photos at selfie points installed at polling booths. Youngsters shared their inked finger selfies as a mark of their participation in this democratic process on social media platforms. The youth polling booth was a treat to see. Home voting, where election officials collect votes from eligible individuals at their homes, is available for those above 80, in essential services, with disabilities, and Covid-19 suspects or affected individuals.
