65-yr-old hit by vehicle, dies

Indore: A 65-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding vehicle on Friday evening in Ekta Nagar.Azad Nagar police station in-charge Neeraj Medha said that the accident took place when Vimlabai, a resident of Indira Ekta Nagar, was on her way to parents home in Chirag Nagar. She was hit by a vehicle in front of the Lord Shiva temple. She was thrown on the road and received critical injuries.She was rushed to hospital by locals where she was declared dead by the doctors.Locals caught hold of the accused and brought him to the police station where police had initiated action against him.A case of culpable homicide will be registered, Medha said. Police were yet to record statements of the eyewitness. Bharati Sahebrao Ahire, along with her accomplices, was involved in cheating, illegal activities, violence, and extortion. The woman had a history of trespassing and threatening people with false complaints. The decision to extern her was made by DCP (Zone 2) Monica Raut under the guidance of CP Ankush Shinde. The police are compiling data on individuals disrupting the peace of the city to take strict action against them. So far, 61 criminals have been expelled this year.
