Indore: A 65-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding vehicle on Friday evening in Ekta Nagar.Azad Nagar police station in-charge Neeraj Medha said that the accident took place when Vimlabai, a resident of Indira Ekta Nagar, was on her way to parents home in Chirag Nagar. She was hit by a vehicle in front of the Lord Shiva temple. She was thrown on the road and received critical injuries.She was rushed to hospital by locals where she was declared dead by the doctors.Locals caught hold of the accused and brought him to the police station where police had initiated action against him.A case of culpable homicide will be registered, Medha said. Police were yet to record statements of the eyewitness.
