Indore: Rajendra Nagar police arrested three persons in alleged murder-abduction of an 18-year-old man, whose body was found in a well on Saturday. The police also paraded the accused in the area on Sunday.The police arrestedthree accused identified as Karan alias Chotu, Shankar, and Tilak on Saturday two days after recovering the body of Pushkar Shukla in the area.Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma said that Pushkars friend had an argument with miscreants of the area.The accused abducted Pushkar being furious over that argument and beat him up at a secluded place. During that scuffle Pushkar fell off and died, Sharma said.The police increased charges against the accused in theabduction case registered initially. The police charged him with murder, abduction in the case.The accused were forcing Pushkars friend to extort money and had an argument over this issue. Pushkar tried to persuade the accused, who got furious at it. They abducted him on Wednesday, when he was returning home, police said. Later, his body was found in a well in Rajendra Nagar police station area, police said. The sexual harassment committee found the principal guilty based on statements from five victims. The accused now faces charges including wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and aggravated sexual assault. Three families whose daughters were students at the school and have since died have also been asked to join the investigation. Women activists have expressed concern over the alleged lack of thorough investigation and pressure on the girls to withdraw their complaints. Farmer leader Azad Palwa claims a prominent politician is supporting the accused. Social activists are calling for counseling for all girls in the school and criticizing the silence of the chief minister and deputy chief minister on the matter.
