DAVV in tight spot after giving consent to NTA for CUET-PG

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) finds itself in a tough spot after signaling its intent to join the Common University Entrance Test-PG 2024 scheduled in March. While this decision opens doors for students for admission in various departments of DAVV, it also presents a challenge for the universitys examination department. .The universitys examination department had been planning to conduct the final year exams for students in the month of March before the staff gets busy in the Lok Sabha Elections in April or May.However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had sought consent from the universities across the country for taking part in theCUET-PG to which DAVV has sent a confirmation email to NTA. The NTA had also asked the universities to refrain from conducting any examinations in the month of March which was against the plans of the varsity that had been planning to conduct the final year exams in March. Thus for DAVV, committing to CUET-PG means juggling final exams scheduled for March without conflicting with CUET-PG dates. "Weve got the green light from the vice chancellor, Prof. Renu Jain and we have given our consent to NTA confirming our participation for CUET PG. Soon, the vice chancellor will preside with department heads to decide wholl join CUET PG 2024. We are aiming at including the non-CUET departments also for CEUT this time after agreement from the department heads" said Dr.Kanhaiya Ahuja, CUET chairman, DAVV. DAVVs exam team is now tasked with scheduling exams in a way that doesnt disrupt both final exams and CUET-PG. Its a challenging feat that demands strategic planning. We have no other option than conducting the exams in March. If we delay the exam it will disturb the academic calendar and also the higher education and job prospects for the final year students. We plan to start the exams by March 1, we will also check the CUET-PGs exam, schedule and plan our exam dates accordingly, Dr Ashesh Tiwari, examination controller, DAVV.
