24 nodal officers appointed for counting day

Indore: Ahead of counting of votes for assembly polls on December 3, Indore election office on Tuesday appointed 24 nodal officers and assigned different responsibilities to them. The officers were shouldered with responsibilities of coordination, manpower, videography and CCTV management, health/medical teams, security, training, food, internet and technical assistance, signage, black boards, stationery and sealing of EVMs, strongrooms, postal ballots and ETPBS among others.The senior officials have been instructed to prepare micro-planning of the responsibilities assigned to them and establish better coordination with subordinates for the counting day. Postal ballots will be transported from the collectorates treasury to the stadium at 3pm on December 2 for counting on the next day.The election office has also started imparting training to agents of candidates to explain them the entire process along with resolving their doubts, if any, that can arise during counting of votes. The Congress delegation, led by JP Dhanopia, lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission and demanded action after an investigation. Kamal Nath, the Congress State President, urged electoral officers to work impartially during the counting on December 3.Senior Cong netas give tips to candidates on vote countCongress held a training session for candidates and counting agents ahead of vote counting in the state. State Congress president Kamal Nath addressed the session and emphasized on fear-free and pressure-free vote counting. He expressed confidence in the dedication and honesty of Congress party workers. Nath highlighted the positive changes that a Congress government would bring, including empowering farmers, respecting women, and creating a bright future for the new generation. Party sources revealed that candidates have been instructed to obtain a certificate of the exact vote tally after each round to prevent manipulation.
