Clear property, water tax dues on Dec 9 & get rebate on surcharge

Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has offered upto 100% rebate on surcharge to its property and water taxpayers on clearing the dues in mega National Lok Adalat scheduled on December 9.IMC officials said, as per MP Municipal Corporation Act, 1956, up to 100% rebate has been offered on surcharge on clearing Rs 50,000 of property tax dues, followed by 50% rebate on dues between Rs 50,000 and upto Rs 1 lakh, rebate of 25% on clearing of property tax and surcharge dues totalling above Rs 1 lakh.IMC will provide 100% rebate in surcharge on clearing of water tax dues upto Rs 10,000, followed by 75% rebate on upto Rs 50,000 and 50% rebate on above Rs 50,000.tnnWe also published the following articles recentlyTax rebate only for strong hybrid cars below Rs 20 lakhThe UT administration has notified that there will be no road tax rebate on strong hybrid vehicles priced at over Rs 20 lakh. The tax benefit will be extended only to strong hybrid vehicles purchased and registered in the jurisdiction of UT Chandigarh. On May 25, the administration had notified tax exemption on hybrid vehicles in the city to promote public interest for a period of five years. The administration wants to prioritise who gets the benefit of tax exemptions and also reduce revenue loss burden on the exchequer.KERC reduces surcharges by 8 paise/unitThe Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has reduced the additional surcharges (ASC) by 8 paise per unit for bulk consumers of electricity. The commission has also allowed a 50% concession in ASC charges for firms procuring electricity from renewable sources. KERC had initially levied Rs 1.48 paise per unit as ASC, but after hearing petitions, it estimated Rs 1.4 per unit. The commission decides to levy 70 paise/unit as the ASC for 2023-24.
