Indore sees warm start to December

Indore: Indoreans witnessed a foggy morning and intermittent sunshine piercing through overcast skies, marking a shift in the weather pattern as the daytime temperature surged on Friday.The maximum temperature on Friday climbed to 27.9 degrees Celsius, a degree below the normal. The maximum temperature reported on Thursday was 25 degrees Celsius.The minimum temperature dipped to 18.4 degrees Celsius, five degrees above the normal.The overnight temperatures remained elevated, setting the tone for a milder start toDecember.The meteorological office has forecast warmer days and foggy mornings in the initial week of December. The mercury will rise slightly on December 4 and 5, whereas after December 6 and 7, it will start dipping about two to three degrees below the normal, IMD predicted.Dense fog, persisting during the morning hours, limited the visibility across the region. Visibility level dropped to 150 meters in the early morning hours. As of 8:30 am on Friday, the temperature stood at 20.4 degree Celsius with humidity at a high of 95%. Visibility stood at 2000 meters, fluctuating between misty and clearer conditions.Rainfall in the area was minimal, registering at just 0.1 mm in the last 24 hours. The wind maintained an easterly direction at speeds varying between 6 and 22 kilometre per hour.There are chances of light rainfall at isolated places till December 3. The chances of temperature dropping during the first week of December are low, IMD Bhopal senior scientist Dr Ved Prakash Singh said.The residents, however, were enchanted by the foggy morning.
