Varsity announces DET results, out of 2.7k candidates, 800 qualify

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya announced the results for Doctoral Entrance Test 2023 on Friday evening, bringing both relief and disappointment for aspiring scholars. Out of a sizeable pool of over 2700 candidates, around 800 managed to cross the demanding threshold of the examination.The overall result stood at only 30% this year. In the management stream, which attracted the most applications, the outcome showed a moderate success rate.Among the 420 candidates, who took the test, 211 candidates cleared the examination. In the commerce stream, where 242 students appeared, 110 qualified.Chairman of Doctoral Entrance Test at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Dr Ashesh Tiwari commenting on the results said, "The results highlight the stringent standards we uphold for admission to our doctoral programmes. They also reflect the necessity for candidates to have a strong grasp of their subjects and be academically prepared. Thirty per cent students managed to pass the examination.In the law stream, a total of 43 candidates out of 158, qualified the exam. In economics, only 35 candidates managed to clear the exam out of 108. The lone candidate, who appeared for Urdu, couldnt manage to score passing marks.December will mark commencement of subsequent stages in selection process. Subjects like commerce, offering the highest number of seats at 179, saw an attendance of approximately 250 out of the expected 295 candidates.
