Counting starts at 8 am under 3-layer security

Indore: Three-layer security has been put up at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium as counting of votes of all nine constituencies of Indore district will start from 8am on Sunday.People can get all updates through election commissions websites while local election office has set up LED screens at Bada Ganpati square near Meghdoot Garden, Rajwada square, Ranjeet Hanuman Mandir parking, 56-Dukan and Chanakyapuri square to broadcast live feeds of trends and results.IMC has also arranged tents, sound systems and sitting facilities at these places for people to watch live streaming of counting process.District collector Ilayaraja T on Saturday issued a prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC banning holding of public meetings, dharnas, protests rallies/processions without obtaining requisite permission. Similar restrictions have been put on use of loudspeakers, bursting firecrackers and carrying/displaying weapons. Making any post on social media that can hurt any religion/caste/community or disturb law and order situation will be dealt with as per the law.Any violation of the order will lead to action under section 188 of IPC. Sunday has been declared as dry day and all liquor shops, licenced hotels/restaurants/bars/pubs will be prohibited from serving liquor for the entire day, he said.Counting of postal ballots, which were on Saturday evening transported from collectorate treasury to the stadiums strongrooms by creating a green corridor, will be carried on 37 tables from 8am. As many as 145 tables have been set up for counting of votes in EVMs ---with maximum 21 tables for Indore-II, 20 for Indore-V, 16 each for Indore-I, Sanwer and Depalpur and 14 tables each for remaining assembly seats. The results are expected come in by noon.Use of mobile phones and calculators in the counting area has been prohibited. Separate parking areas have been identified for government staff, media, agents of the candidates and police/administrative officials.On Saturday, the election office carried out second randomization of government employees to assign their duties for counting while tables would be assigned to them after third randomization that will be carried out at 5am on Sunday.
