Thieves steal cash, jewellery worth `7L in Sudama Nagar

Indore: Unidentified men broke into a locked house in Sudama Nagar and made away with cash and jewellery worth around Rs 7 lakh.We registered a case on the complaint of Anmol Saxena (40), a software engineer. Saxenas mother lives in sector B of Sudama Nagar while his family lives in Vijay Nagar. He works in Delhi and had come to Indore for a few days.As his mother was ill, he had brought her to stay with him in Vijay Nagar, Annapurna police station in-charge Sanju Kamle said.Saxena received a call from some neighbours that the lock of the house was broken. When they reached there, several items were missing, and the house ransacked. He said that the accused made away with over Rs 2.5 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh from the house. The accused were caught in CCTV cameras installed in the house based on which police were trying to identify them.In Jeet Nagar, another house break was reported. CCTV footage shows that two men jumped over the compound wall. The police are analyzing the footage in Ashoknagar to establish the trail of the burglars.72 sovereigns of gold jewellery stolen from house near MaduraiBurglars broke into the house of a paint shop owner in Madurai district near Nagamalai Pudukottai. S Rameshkannan, 54, of Venkatachalapathi Nagar, Thuvariman, reported that 72 sovereigns of gold jewellery were stolen. Rameshkannan, who runs a paint shop in Madurai city, had been staying in a rented house in KK Nagar with his family. The burglars broke open the front door and stole the valuables, including the gold jewellery and some silver items. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
