One killed, one injured in accident

Indore: An electrician was killed, and his friend was seriously injured after they were mowed down by a speeding heavy vehicle in Chandan Nagar on Monday night.Chandan Nagar police station in-charge Indramani Patel said Harivansh, a resident of Dilip Nagar was on his way home with his friend Santosh when they were hit by a speeding cement-mixer vehicle coming from the opposite direction.Both were thrown off their vehicle and received critical injuries. Locals took them to hospital. Harivansh had died on the spot, while Santosh was admitted for further treatment. Body of the deceased was handed over to family members after a postmortem examination, police said.Family members said that both were working on a light fixing contract in a hotel on Navda road. The chief minister expressed grief and directed authorities to provide relief and treatment. Police have registered cases for both incidents and are investigating.
