Holkar college gears up for NAAC grading, eyes A++

Indore: Government Autonomous Holkar Science College has received an official confirmation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on successfully qualifying the self survey report (SSR) assessment on Tuesday. Holkar college had submitted the report seven months ago for its NAAC assessment.The college, established in 1891, received NAAC A grade iin January 2016 which lapsed after January 2021.The accreditation, however, was extended for a year by the council in view of Covid-19 pandemic. The extension lapsed in January 2022. The college, since then, had been waiting for its NAAC assessment.After qualifying the SSR round, the Holkar Science College is gearing up for the upcoming NAAC assessment. We will be paying the fee for the NAAC team visit in a day or two. After this the council will seek three slots from the college dated within the next 30-45 days. We are hopeful of the NAAC team visiting around mid- January, Holkar Science College administrative officer Dr RC Dixit said.College principal Dr Suresh T Silawat said, "The college has undergone significant transformation in preparation for the NAAC A++ grade. We are confident due to substantial groundwork and documentation to excel under the criteria and weightages."Despite an earlier Institutional Information for Quality Assessment submission in December 2022, subsequent changes in NAAC criteria necessitated a re-submission, causing delay in the process. The administration is confident about achieving the A++ grade this time, citing Government Madhav Science Colleges success last year as an inspiration."Compared to Madhav Science College, we are poised to excel in all NAAC parameters. Our recent mock test score of 3.58 out of 4 has further boosted our confidence," added Dixit.The college secured grade A with a score of 3.23 in 2016. The institute now aims for a minimum score of 3.75 to secure the A++ grade this year.
