Neemuch donates ` 1.17 crore on Indian Armed Forces Flag Day

Indore: People of Neemuch on Thursday put a great show of patriotism and respect towards Indias Armed Forces by generating a whooping Rs 1.17 crore for ex-servicemen and their family members through crowdfunding that is around 35-fold higher than its target of Rs 3.30 lakh set for Indian Armed Forces Flag Day.The amount is around 30% of the total target of Rs 3.5 crore the department of ex-servicemen welfare had issued for the entire state.Hundreds of people marched with a rally that Neemuch district administration took out through major squares of the city, some of them even danced on the patriotic tunes while everyone shouted slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Hind, Jai Hind Ki Sena as donated money as per their capacities and urged others to help generating financial assistance for the ex-servicemen, their widows and children to meet their needs.Neemuch collector Dinesh Jain, who led the entire drive, said, The department of ex-servicemen welfare had assigned us a target to generate Rs 3.3 lakh for the ex-army men including handicapped ex-servicemen, their widows and children to extend some financial assistance for them to meet their need and against it, the district generated around Rs 1.17 crore through crowdfunding.He added that the entire states target was around Rs 3.5 crore and of this, Neemuch district itself generated around 30% of it.
