KANPUR: A day after Kanpur STF allegedly picked up reformed Chambal dacoit and ‘Bigg Boss’ Season 4 celebrity Seema Parihar’s brother Ramveer from their residence in Bawine village of Auraiya on Tuesday night, she accused the state police of conspiring to eliminate her and her family members. Ramveer was picked up to know the whereabouts of her nephew Rajendra, whose name surfaced during investigation in connection with the recent hooch tragedy in Kanpur and Kanpur Dehat which claimed more than 13 lives.“Around 11 pm on Tuesday, when we were sleeping, more than a dozen men in three vehicles arrived at my house. Instead of seeking permission, they got entry using a ladder. After inquiring for a while about my nephew Rajendra, who they claimed was involved in hooch tragedy of Kanpur and Kanpur Dehat, forcibly bundled up my brother in one of the vehicles and sped away,” Seema, a resident of Bawine village of Auraiya, told TOI.She alleged that when she tried to resist, the men introduced themselves as members of Kanpur STF and threatened her of dire consequences. While Seema said she still has no clue about where the police has taken her brother, she alleged that they were planning to kill her and her family members in a fake encounter soon. She added that she approached SP Auraiya and other senior officials several times in the past 24 hours, but they all have feigned ignorance about her brother’s whereabouts. “If my nephew has done anything wrong, it doesn’t mean that we all are wrong. I have been informed by a source that police are planning to book my brother Ramveer in a fake case. He may be killed in a staged encounter later. When I have quit the bad life a long time ago, why am I being harassed?” she said.However, police have denied her allegations. “The charges are baseless. Ramveer has been rounded up by Kanpur STF to locate his nephew Rajendra, who is on the run since his name surfaced in connection with hooch tragedy of Kanpur and Kanpur Dehat,” said Auraiya ASP Rajesh Kumar Saxena. Seema, 39, was kidnapped from Auraiya district by dacoits Lala Ram and Kusma Nain when she was 13. She was later married to Nirbhay Gujar, a dreaded dacoit who was killed in a police encounter. During her stint as a dacoit, Seema kidnapped nearly 200 people for ransom. In 2000, she surrendered to the state police. She stayed in jail for a few years after being charged with eight murders and half a dozen kidnappings.
