Dacoits kill man, abduct minor daughter in Kannauj

KANPUR: A man was stabbed to death while his wife was injured by a gang of dacoits who raided his their house in Gauraiyapur village under the limits of Gursahaiganj Kotwali in Kannauj district on late Monday night.The dacoits also abducted their 17-year-old daughter and decamped with cash and jewellery worth lakh of rupees, the police said.The police identified the deceased as Ramesh Chandra Jatav (45).

His wife Usha Devi (39) is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Their teenage daughter has been identified as Sangita.The trio were sleeping when the dacoits barged into the house and attacked the couple with sharp-edged weapons when they resisted them, the police said and added that the miscreants also abducted their minor daughter and decamped with cash and jewellery worth lakh of rupees.The police team rushed to the spot and under the supervision of SP Amrendra Prasad Singh launched an investigation.
