KANPUR: A man was stabbed to death while his wife was injured by a gang of dacoits who raided his their house in Gauraiyapur village under the limits of Gursahaiganj Kotwali in Kannauj district on late Monday night.The dacoits also abducted their 17-year-old daughter and decamped with cash and jewellery worth lakh of rupees, the police said.The police identified the deceased as Ramesh Chandra Jatav (45). His wife Usha Devi (39) is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Their teenage daughter has been identified as Sangita.The trio were sleeping when the dacoits barged into the house and attacked the couple with sharp-edged weapons when they resisted them, the police said and added that the miscreants also abducted their minor daughter and decamped with cash and jewellery worth lakh of rupees.The police team rushed to the spot and under the supervision of SP Amrendra Prasad Singh launched an investigation. A team of forensic expert collected vital evidences from the spot to get a lead.The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when villagers visited Ramesh's house in Gauraiyapur under Gursahaiganj police station area. They informed police before rushing Usha to a nearby CHC. The police then reached the house and found Ramesh in a pool of blood lying under the cot with his throat slit.The condition of the room and smashed bangles suggested that they had offered resistance.
