KANPUR: Alluding to a recent remark of BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj that 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be the last, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said "people are saying that there will be no election in the days to come, so we will have to exercise our franchise and save the democracy"."We are not supposed to indulge in 'chaiwala' and 'chowkidar' debate. We should exercise our franchise, elect a new PM and save our democracy," Akhilesh told a gathering of party workers and supporters on the lawns of his ancestral house in Saifai on the occasion of Holi.He also hit out at BJP, alleging it had backtracked from the promises made during the 2014 polls and also assailed it for playing 'decisive politics'.Speaking on the occasion, Mulayam said, "One should always believe in giving special place and respect to women in politics.
