Kanpur:A day after SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav dropped a broad hint that he may not campaign for his estranged brother Shivpal , the latter while leaving his Chaugurji residence in Etawah for Firozabad where he was scheduled to file his nomination, said he had blessings of Netaji (Mulayam) and he would put all his effort to help his elder brother win Mainpuri seat with a record margin.“With the blessings of ‘Netaji’, out party is going to secure maximum number of seats across the state in this Lok Sabha election. People of Firozabad have exuded confidence in Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) and nearly 50 other parties have extended their support to it. People of Firozabad are fighting my election. There is no one in fight against me,” he said.“Also, there is a full support to Netaji, as I am his true supporter and will put all my energy to make his win historic from Mainpuri,” he added.Questioned by media on Friday, Mulayam had said in Firozabad, “Aree choro, rallyan sab karte hain, kaun jata hai, kaun nahi jata, iski chinta kya karna (Leave it, everybody does rallies, need not to worry on who attends and who doesn’t).”Shivpal also sought divine intervention before filing his nomination.Before leaving for Firozabad where he was scheduled to file his nomination, donning a red colour ‘chunri’, he offered prayers at his Chaugurji, Etawah residence.He also offered a chadar at a dargah. He was accompanied by his wife Sarla Yadav. To recall, sitting MP from Firozabad is Akshay Yadav, son of Shivpal’s estranged brother Ram Gopal Yadav.Shivpal, who is a sitting SP MLA from Jaswant Nagar seat in Etawah, is stated to have influence in Firozabad and the adjoining districts and is seen as a strong contender against nephew Akshay, who has been declared SP’s candidate in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
