BJP has appointed gangster Arvind Raj Tripathi as the state minister of BJYM (Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha). History-sheeter Arvind from Kakadev police station has also been sentenced by the lower court in a case. Recently, a case has also been registered against him for indecency with a policeman and obstructing government work.

Even after this, the party gave him an important post in the election year. The list of 26 office bearers of BJYM was released on Monday. It also includes the name of Arvind Raj Tripathi, a resident of Kakadev.

Police Commissioner Aseem Arun told that 16 cases against Arvind Raj are registered in Kakadev police station. A report has been sought from the police on the latest status of the cases. The status of the cases will be known only after the report comes.

In 2005, Arvind was made an accused in the murder of student leader Sunny Gill in Chakeri police station area and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Sitapur Sessions Court. He was in jail for a long time in this murder case. However, the High Court later acquitted him. Arvind was also accused of killing a canteen operator.

The first case was registered in 2002. The police has taken action against Arvind four times under the Goonda Act. Apart from this, cases of extortion and assault are also registered against him.
