Kanpur: In a gory incident, charred and a beheaded body of an unidentified man was reportedly found under mysterious circumstances near Gujaini railway bridge of Kanpur-Etawah highway late Tuesday night. A case of murder has been registered against unidentified persons and a probe is on. The body has been sent for postmortem. According to police, the killers separated the head from the body to conceal the identity and hunt was on to trace the mans head, his burnt body has been sent for autopsy. The body was spotted by locals on the highway late Tuesday night who informed the police control room.After getting the information, a police team and a forensic team immediately rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. A case of murder has been registered against unknown people by the police.The identity of the body could not be traced even after hours of probe. The killers too are at large. Govind Nagar police station in-charge Devendra Dubey said that even after several hours of investigation, the deceased could not be identified, besides the identity of the perpetrators of crime is yet to be ascertained. The dead body seems six to ten days old. It has been sent for postmortem, he added.
