Missing girls’ case: 3 home guards and staffer found guilty

Kanpur: Recommendation for terminating services of a class IV employee has been made in connection with the escape of two girls from a Government Children Home (Girls) in Swaroop Nagar.Two minor girls were found missing from Swaroop Nagars Government Children Home on August 14.Police had recovered one of the missing teenagers on August 18, while searches were underway to locate the whereabouts of the other missing girl. Both the minor girls were brought here from Kanpur Dehat on August 3.District magistrate Vishak G Iyer had constituted a team of additional district magistrate (land acquisition) Rinki Jaiswal and sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Narval Rishabh Verma to probe the incident. Inmate home superintendent Manju Verma, three home guards and a class IV employee have been found guilty in the investigation.District probation officer Jaideep Singh meanwhile said that a letter has been sent to the authorities to terminate the services of Class IV employee posted in the Children Home. After receiving the investigation report, the DM has sent a letter to the directorate for action against the superintendent, Singh further said.
